Who We Are
TEACHERS’ CENTRE: EARLY BEGINNINGS....
The Teachers’ Centre was founded by stalwarts in education like Sr Mary Ross, Mrs Uma Ahmad, Mrs Pearson, Mrs Katie Dalal, Mrs Ayesha Das, Sr Cyril, Mr. John Mason and Father Bruylants (SJ). The Teachers’ Centre was registered by the name of THE PROGRESSIVE EDUCATIONAL TECHNIQUES SOCIETY in 1974 under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act XXVI of 1961. Right from its inception, the Loreto House Sisters have provided support to run the activities of the Teachers’ Centre. We have been involved in many projects over these 50 years with the USIEF, British Council, Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy, The Oral School for Deaf Children, Manovikas Kendra and
MACE, to name a few.
The Teachers’ Centre is a NOT FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION. We are reigistered under 80G and 12A
